About RoboCup Singapore Open 2013

RoboCup Singapore Open cum National Selection of RoboCupJunior 2013 aims to promote innovation using robotics and select the best teams to represent Singapore in the RoboCup World Championship 2013 (http://www.robocup2013.org), to be held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 24 – 30 June 2013.

Registration
Team Online Registration has been ended!
The on-site registration begins at 2pm, 4 April. All teams taking part in RCJ Challenges will be interviewed. Please complete the on-site registration at least 30 minutes before the team interview.
Teams are required to bring the following for interview:
- Soccer and Rescue teams: Robots and learning journals
- Dance teams: Robot photos and learning journals. Teams are not required to bring the large dancing robots and props for interview.
- CoSpace Dance Teams: Robot photos, virtual environment and learning journals. Teams are not required to bring the large dancing robots and props for interview.
- CoSpace Rescue Teams: Sample programs and learning journals.
Open Challenge participants are not required to attend the interview prior to the competition.

Competition
The RoboCup Singapore Open 2013 serves as the national level selection for Singapore RoboCupJunior teams. Hence, the RoboCup Singapore Open 2013 will focus on the RoboCupJunior Challenge. RoboCupJunior is a robotics event for primary and secondary school students that provides consistent challenges from year to year and emphasizes sharing ideas in a friendly learning environment.

The invited RoboCup Major teams will demonstrate the Major league categories. They are RoboCup Soccer, RoboCup Rescue, and RoboCup@Home.

Eligibility
RoboCupJunior is for primary and secondary school students. There is no fixed minimum age, but primary students are expected to be able to read (and hence write programs for their robots) on their own, without significant help from adult mentors.
- Students over age 19 are not allowed on RoboCupJunior teams.
- Primary age group: Teams with all student members age 14 and below.
- Secondary age group: Teams with any student member over age 14.
- Declaration day is the 1st of July 2013.
Competition Rules
The RoboCup Singapore Open 2013 will follow the official rules 2013.
Registration (Singapore Teams)
Date: 27 Feb – 7 Mar 2013
Fee: S$50 per team member including mentor (excl 7% GST). The team registration is free.
Registration will be closed at 6pm, 7 March 2013. Any changes, such as participating leagues, team names and member names, are strictly NOT allowed once the registration is closed.
As the RoboCup Singapore Open 2013 serves as the national qualifier/selection for the RoboCupJunior segment of RoboCup 2013, you may wish to send the following documents to junior@robocupsg.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. (3) Robots’ photos (if available)

Mentor
